WELGER High Density Baler AP 530 - AP 830 Baler For more than one hundred years Welger have been building balers. The wealth of knowledge built up over years and years, as well as knowledge of the most up to date manufacturing and assembly technology come as standard with every single baler. FEATURES: Main drive with overload safety device Two friction clutches, one in front and one in the back of the fly wheel, are incorporated in the drive shaft between the tractor P.T.O. and the drive to the baler. In AP 530 and AP 630 a shear bolt safeguards the drive if the provided maintenance works have not been carried out. In AP 730 and AP 830 the need for a shear bolt is eliminated due to an automatically re-setting safety clutch. Synchronized all shaft drive To ensure a long trouble free working life the whole drive system of the baler is synchronized, the packers and knotters are driven by non-torsion shafts and toothed gears. From the central hypoid gear box the drive is transmitted by a universal joint, the main drive shaft transmits to a secondary shaft via and an angle joint to the packer, knotters and needle drive. No chains and v-belts are used - even the pick--up is driven by shafts - this increases considerably the reliability, as well as reducing maintenance. Time spent tensioning and greasing chains is eliminated. Highly efficient Cross Feed The cross feed is fitted with 2 self-deflecting packers (3 on the AP 830),which ensure the feed area is not damaged. The deflecting packers are not fitted with the usual shear bolts. In the case of an overload the packers can deflect and return into the working position automatically. After several ram strokes the obstruction will usually have cleared itself. An even bigger feature to the Welger system becomes evident when the hydro packer is fitted. It is a further development of the proven and tested deflecting packer. Automatic needle drive A double clutch safeguards the knotter, with synchronized timing of the needles to the ram in both the normal, and should it be needed, the reverse direction of rotation. This works fully automatically and makes complicated ram stop devices unnecessary. Automatic safety devices Easy, uninterrupted work is essential for a high throughput performance. Balers of other makes are protected with shear bolts. In a case of an overload not only does the shear bolt have to be changed, but additionally the intake area has to be cleared. All WELGER Balers are fitted with automatic safety devices. When an overload does occur the driver only has to stop, while the machine clears itself automatically. Bale Thrower The bale thrower P 23 - available for all Welger AP balers -is an additional accessory for all farms, where just one man brings in the bales. Driven by its own hydraulic system this bale thrower can give maximum performance of the Welger high density baler because it is not impeded by the working pace of manual labor while loading. With the optional positioning device it is possible to adjust the throwing direction. This achieves an equal loading of the trailer even under bad conditions, i.e. side winds or steep fields. Equipment for professional farmers and contractors To enable quick and easy maintenance work the foldable guards give direct access to all machine components. Although the balers are equipped to a high standard, there is a range of optional equipment to further improve efficiency. Just one example of this is the hydraulically operated drawbar. It enables the driver to shift the machine easily into the working or transport position. WELGER Round baler RP 202 Baler RP 202 CLASSIC This model is fitted with a 1.50 m wide pick-up with direct feed to the compression chamber, including all the well proven features of the popular Welger fixed chamber round balers. RP 202 SPECIAL This model has a pick-up width of 2.00 m which is a main feature. Two pickup guide wheels ensure a consistent height to cleanly pick up the complete crop even with very wide swaths. The stone-resistant star rotor fitted behind it gives a high capacity flow of grass into the compression chamber. This unit is directly driven by the POWERSPLIT gear transmission, which helps to reduce power. FEATURES POWERSPLIT main gearbox with split power drive Angular gears and transverse drive shafts are incorporated into one oil filled gearbox housing. The separate drive to the rotor and bale chamber can transmit heavy loads very efficiently and cannot be damaged from torsion tension. Chain lubrication - economical and non polluting This new concept for chain lubrication has a new feature of a permanent pump. Exactly the right amount of lubricant is distributed to each relevant part during the whole of the baling process. Mechanical tailgate locking The models RP 202-320, like all Welger Round Balers, are fitted as standard with mechanical tailgate locking. This device holds the compression chamber fully closed during bale formation, which guarantees maximum density and reduces loss of short grass. In addition, it is very user-friendly because only one single-acting hydraulic connection is required. Steel roller concept... rotating for ever and ever... The compression chamber is fitted with steel rollers all round, which are essential to ensure the rotation and formation of the bale in all crop conditions. POWERGRIP steel rollers - profitable quality POWERGRIP rollers are manufactured from thick-walled seamless steel tube. No welding seams which are subject to cracking! 10 longitudinal ribs with an optimum roller diameter provide a good grip, even with heavy silage or very smooth straw. Solid forged shafts, not assembled from disks are capable of taking the high compression forces. Constant Pressure System - highest possible bale density! The bale chamber on the RP405 is designed so that the specific area pressure on the bale surface is constant from 1m to the set bale diameter up to 2 m. This is achieved by increasing the belt tension in respect to the increase in bale chamber diameter. Therefore a high compression of the baled crop is achieved throughout the bale diameter. Constant Pressure System – compression force without limits! The hydraulic pressure for the density is produced by an independent system so there is no connection between tractor hydraulics and the baler for bale density. This system gives simple settings of density with no pre pressuring from the tractor and allows the bale to be unwrapped easily for bedding or feeders right down to the bale core. Easiest operation, no need for producing precompression! Soft bale core, simple unrolling of the bale! Mechanical tailgate locking As on all round balers from Welger, the RP 405 is also fitted with a mechanical tailgate locking device. This keeps the bale chamber securely closed. Only when the well proven high density achieved by WELGER balers is achieved and the bale is cleanly tied, is the locking device disengaged and the tailgate lifted. This is the main reason for highest bale weights and uniform bale size well known from Welger balers. The engineers at Welger consequently followed these rules when creating the wrapper ATTIS HR 16. As a result Welger presents a machine that is marked by great performance, ease and comfortable operating and superior reliability. Different modes of operation The operation with the wrapper Welger ATTIS HR 16 allows three different modes: 1. Fully automatic operation Only just one touch of a key is necessary to start the whole wrapping process from loading to wrapping. 2. Semi automatic operation In this mode you start at first only the loading process. The loading arms take the bale, the wrapping table swings back into the horizontal wrapping position and the wrapping arms go back into the rest position. By pressing once more the start key you start the wrapping process. Smooth start of the arms and wrapping of the first layers, release of the end of the plastic film, complete wrapping of the bale with the pre-selected number of layers and at least cutting and locking of the film end are controlled by electronic box. Because of safety reasons the unloading of the wrapped bale can only be done by pressing the start key separately. The loading arms fix the bale on the table until it has reached a vertical position and the bale has contact to the ground. Only after that position is reached, the arms will open and release the bale. The advantage of this procedure is, that the bale will not be dropped to the ground, but will be gently put down. This helps to avoid damages to the film and prevents the bale of rolling on hilly ground. 3. Manual operation Operating this way every single step of the procedure can be activated by pressing the start key. This allows to react to special working conditions. Secure bale loading Even misshapen bales will be grasped and loaded securely by means of the special designed pinching elements. Universal operation! Based on the robust design there can be handled bales with a diameter up to 1,65 m and a weight up to 1500 kg. Safe bale guidance Large, special designed rollers keep the bale securely on the wrapping table. That allows to wrap bales during driving, even on hilly ground. Simple operating Operating of the wrapper with E-LINK, the operating set with fully graphic display, makes work to a child's play. Even in the dark you may recognize all shown functions and parameters. Multiple ways of mounting Of course you may mount the ATTIS HR 16 not only to the three link hydraulics in the back of the tractor. As well you can practice the mounting in front of the tractor or even to a tele-porter if there is provided the corresponding linkage. Film width 500 or 750 mm ? No problem! The pre-stretching unit can be easily adjusted to both of them without extra tools. Uniform overlapping of film for a safe exclusion of air. Adjustments can be done very simple by just one valve.
